Windy Hill Dunes #1502 Spectacular Property

Stressful
When we arrived on Sunday, we received a four digit code for the electronic door lock. The code would NOT unlock the door. When we reached the emergency contact for the rental agency, she suggested that we try the pound sign before or after the four digits. There was no pound sign, only a lock icon and a house icon. After trying combinations of those icons and the four digits, we gained access to the condo. The correct entry was house icon then four digits. This was never mentioned in our access information.

On our last full day, Saturday, we returned to the condo mid day and found that we could not get in. Another call to the emergency contact, who contacted the owner, and found that the owner had changed the entry code a day early.

We have rented dozens of apartments, condos, cabins, and houses and have never experienced this kind of difficulty with access. This level of stress does not make for a restful vacation.

The Owner Direct Vacation Rental staff was very helpful but they do not control the access code to the electronic lock. The out of town owners controlled the access code.

The condo was lovely and very comfortable.

Perfect Vacation & Super Clean Condo
Condo is meticulous, newly painted, cozy, comfortable and has all needed kitchen essentials. Comfy beds with plenty of blankets. Bathrooms equipped with towels and a few toiletries. Perfect location with amazing views. Missing the sound of the waves and Looking forward to a future visit.

New updates to a beautiful unit
We had the pleasure of staying at 1502 Windy Hill Dunes for the Christmas holiday again this year. The new updates to the unit give it a very bright, classic , coastal vibe. The plank tile floors in living room and Master bedroom reflect more of the beautiful light from outside as well as the sea foam green paint throughout the entire area that replaced the wallpaper. New furniture was very comfortable. The management company was excellent to work with and our unit was very clean.

Dream Get-away
This was my second, but not last (!) stay in this beautifully-kept, fully-equipped condo. I even had the pleasure of having a new sofa delivered - on my birthday, no less! Everything about this condo and its location is perfect! The shower head made me never want to get out of the shower. I wondered if anyone would notice if I brought it home with me! Haha My daughter spent my second week with me for our second mother-daughter get-away together, last year being our first. When I asked if she would like to try somewhere else next year, she was adamant that we return, not only to NMB, but to this very condo! Thank you for making this such a special retreat!

Great Location for sea view, but logistics screwed
We are a group of 7 people, thoroughly enjoyed the view from balcony, lazy river, hot tub, play cards/puzzles indoor.

Worst part is their logistics- hot water from shower is not enough for 2-3 people, have to wait for 30 mins to get hot water again.
The water feels like hard water, not softened.

They don’t have washer liquid, no body wash, no shampoo etc.. we should get them.. which is a suprise, they charged more for house keeping.

Hi Suresh, I apologize about the hot water issue. This is the first time it has been brought to our attention, so I thank you for that! One of the reasons most of our owners don't off laundry detergent, shampoo, and body wash is due to guests with possible skin allergy issues. We do provide the essential "starter" items such as a roll of paper towels, a roll of toilet tissue for every bathroom, soap to wash your hands, detergent for the dishwasher, towels etc. Apologies for any confusion. Hopefully we can host you in the future.

Exemplary rental at Windy Hill Dunes 1502
I spent the best 2 weeks in this beautiful condo and can't wait to return! It is so clean and comfortable. It offers everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect -- safe location and close to everything. The view from the balcony is spectacular! Love sitting out there listening to the ocean and people-watching. It was a wonderful reunion for my two longtime friends and I the first week and a really special mother-daughter get-away the second week. I even went out of my comfort zone and went parasailing!!! I'll never do it again, but I'm so proud of myself for doing what I never dreamed I'd allow myself to do. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful vacation home. I have such treasured memories.

Girl’s Week
Overall we had a fantastic time at the beach. Relaxing and lots of fun. First the positive things: the condo was very nice, well maintained, had perfect views and was in a perfect location. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Pool area was a little on the small side but we were there at a time when most kids had gone back to school so it wasn’t a big issue for us.

Now for the negative things: These things might not be an issue for everyone but for us it was disappointing. The office was very difficult to find from the address given. It leads you to a totally different area. We had to call the office twice and then they had to stay on the phone with us to give us step by step directions as we drove to the office. We were told we had to go there before going to the condo to get “our keys and information binder”. Actually we weren’t given keys - just a door code. We felt they could have texted us the door code and left the binder in the condo but then they wouldn’t have been able to charge the $300 refundable deposit which was charged us upon our arrival at the office. It took 3 weeks for us to receive a refund after calling 3 times to see where it was. Not cool when they know immediately once the place is cleaned if there is any damage. It shouldn’t take 3 weeks and numerous calls to get a refund. Lastly, the description in the write up on the bathroom situation is incorrect. We had three girls in our party and we each wanted our own bathroom in our bedroom. The condo write up says the 3rd bedroom has a queen bed with a private bath but actually it is across the hall from the bedroom. We specifically picked this condo over another because the write up said the bathroom was in the room. If we would have known it wasn’t, we would have chosen the other condo.

Thank you for the review. The owner will be delighted that you enjoyed every aspect of the condo, complex and Windy Hill location. To address your negative issues -- We are sorry for the troubles with your GPS to get to our office. There are many different map apps out there and depending on which one you used, some do not understand our office location, versus the North and South directions of local Highway 17. ODVR is still a full service property management company and we treat our "check-ins" with hotel hospitality and concierge services. We believe it is important to verify guests with photo i.d., etc., to make sure we have properly vetted for SC Law age requirements, etc. This is highly important to most homeowners who are willing to share their properties openly with public travelers. The third bedroom/bathroom scenario is best described as separate from the bedroom (3 feet), but contained within it's own private hallway, off of the main hallway. This should make most guest comfortable within the space. Thank you for the kudos and we hope to hear from you again.

Great Condo in a fantastic location!
This condo was perfect for our family of 8. We loved the three bedrooms/3 bathrooms floor plan. We especially liked that there wasn’t the “bunk bed room” that so many condos seem to have. The condo was well stocked with all the comforts of home. The view of the ocean was incredible!

Perfect Location
This condo is located in the perfect spot for a vacation to the Myrtle Beach area. Just a steps from the beach and a short drive to Barefoot Landing with many restaurants and shops. The condo itself is cozy and clean and you can’t beat waking up to the sound of the waves. The patio is also a highlight for morning reading and evening meals.

Wonderful condo in a great location!
My husband and I rented this condo. We had all three adult daughters and one son-in-law. The three bedrooms and three bathrooms worked out perfect! Condo was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked. One thing we realized is that they have a regular drip coffee pot AND a Keurig coffee pot. There was starter packs of paper towels, dishwasher soap, laundry soap and bars of hand/body soap. We brought our own which was good because we went through a lot! We brought garbage bags which we used a lot of also! We brought toilet paper but they did provide enough for our week trip.

We arrived after the office closed and it was very easy to get your keys and parking passes. Standard number of parking passes is 2 so if you need more request it before you go. The office was very easy to work with.

Overall we loved this place and would highly recommend it.

First Time in Myrtle Beach
The rental process was simple through the VRBO site. The rental staff was spectacular they called a few times to go over the rental agreement, answer questions about the area, & then a few days before our arrival to ensure we had no questions or concerns. Everyone was helpful, I talked with Tracy the most & she answered all my questions & gave great recommendations.
The condo, overall, was amazing. We did have some issues with the bathtubs/showers not being cleaned (hair left in the shower, a piece of soap w/ hair attached). However, this was not significant enough to us & will still give a 5 star rating because everything else was perfect!
The location was perfect, we were close to everything we wanted to to & the beach was right out our door. The view from our condo was spectacular, we were on the 15th floor & had an awesome view. The unit was quiet, we could not hear anything from our neighbors. Being on the 15th floor also limited the noise from the beach, we could hear the waves perfectly, but the noise from visitors on the beach was minimal. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was there for our use. We did make use of the Green Egg grills, that was a treat!
The weather was absolutely perfect as well.
I highly recommend this condo & hope to be able to return for another visit.

Beautiful condo, fantastic views, great location
Rental process over the phone with ODVR was so easy! Everything is explained during the rental process, no hidden or surprise fees. Check-in was fast and simple & we were provided all the instructions we needed. Parking is convenient in the parking deck, and the catwalk over the street was especially nice and we felt like it was an added safety bonus, given that we didn't have to take the kids into the street to get to our cars. The unit was clean and beautiful, kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed for daily meals. The unit is spacious and inviting, with comfy furniture and incredible views from the oversized balcony. Plenty of room on the balcony for everyone to sit and enjoy the views at the same time. The property grounds are clean, attractive and well-kept. The pool and lazy river were a fun activity for the kids, while the adults enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The grilling area with big green eggs is very nice (although we didn't use them during our stay, it is a nice convenience for anyone wishing to cook outdoors during their stay). The beach access was clean and easy to traverse, and the convenience of the deck with showers was an added bonus to knock the sand off ourselves and our stuff before coming back to the room. The trash chute in the hallway made it easy to dispose of trash immediately and not have to keep it in the unit until we could take it somewhere to dispose. We didn't experience any issues with excessive noise or disturbances at the property or surrounding properties. We felt completely safe during our stay. The area is peaceful and quiet, and close to many places to shop, eat, explore and play. We would not hesitate to come back again and/or to rent again from Owner Direct Vacation Rentals.

Family Getaway
The condo was the perfect place for my family of 5 and my parents to stay! We had a total of 7 adults in the condo and having 3 bathrooms was a lifesaver! My only complaint would be that in one of the guest bathrooms, the unit above had a water leak the week before. There was a hole in the ceiling in our unit due to water damage and the water was still dripping into our bathroom. This was not disclosed to us at check-in and this was the fault of Owner Direct Vacation Rentals and not the owner of the unit itself. This situation required maintenance people to be in and out of our unit which was a pain. Honestly, I did not like people being in our condo when no one was there or when my parents were napping.
We did receive a bottle of wine at check-in from the condo's owner which was a nice touch. The unit was spotless and having access to the storage unit which was filled with beach chairs and boogie boards was fantastic!

Thank you for the detailed review. So glad that the condo's interior met your overall approval for a great beach retreat! The owner does provide all of the essentials and then some, like beach chairs, to make your stay fantastic! We do apologize again about the leaking unit that started 2 floors above this condo. However, because we do not manage that upper property on our program, we were at the mercy of the building's HOA to trace the problem, contact the other owner and insists on resolving the leak issue as quickly as possible. The other owner is responsible for repairing the leak and then addressing all damages it caused in other units. Owner Direct Vacation Rentals is not responsible for any such building maintenance but we were glad to facilitate the process for our owner and their guests to avoid bigger problems. We always offer guests to control the window of time that suits their schedule when such necessary maintenance is required. We do apologize and hope you will return.

Could not have been better
Unit was as advertised and very comfortable. Parking was easily accessible. Short walk to the beach. The only possible thing that I wouldn't give five stars to (and I'm stretching) is the pool. If you have young kids and need a big pool area, you may struggle here. However, everything else was excellent and I'd rent the unit again in a heartbeat.

Fabulous Condo Rental
This is our third visit to 1502 Wendy Hill Dunes and we have committed not to stay anywhere else for future North Myrtle Beach vacations. The location is secluded from the commercialism that is normally associated with Myrtle Beach, yet it is close enough to enjoy the best of both worlds. Beautiful view from the 15th floor balcony. There is plenty of sand to enjoy long days on the sand, even at high tide. The furnishings are comfortable and the kitchen is well-stocked and has great appliances. Book this rental with confidence that you will not be disappointed.

Great stay
This was a great building and a great condo. Good location, and very clean. Check in and out was easy and not to far from the building. Plenty of parking available. Nice family centered vacation location. We would definitely like to stay again. Only major complaints were too many decorations in the condo that babies can get into so had to find places to move it. All and try and remember we’re to put it all back when we left. The recycling was also a pain they should offer recycling on site.

Best Ocean Front Rental
This 3 BR 3 BA condo at Windy Hill Dunes is without a doubt the nicest beach rental I have stayed in. We have rented for over 35 years, and this IS tops. The unit is equipped with everything we needed and the quality of the inventory is excellent. Needless to say the view is splendid. This short stretch of North Myrtle is not overpopulated or commercialized.

Ocean front condo in north Myrtle Beach
Overall, pretty good experience...picking up keys and parking passes was simple and only about a mile away from the actual property. The property itself has a covered multilevel parking garage ( but the elevator in the garage did not work for the first two days)...room was nice enough and plenty of space. The room was direct ocean view, which is what we wanted. The bed sheets in the master did not fit right, but the property sent someone over the next day to put on the correct size sheets. The pool and lazy river were clean and the kids really enjoyed them. The beach was great (it always is; it is the BEACH afterall). Check out was easy too. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your condo.

Pretty Nice Place
Great location on North Myrtle Beach. Everything you need is within a reasonable drive. The beach was great. Not too busy while we were there. Nice waves. Relaxing vacation. The condo was as described. Not the most modern, up to date furnishings and there's definitely an opportunity to make it a bit cleaner (behind the furniture, under the beds, some of the dishes). All in all though, it was a comfortable condo, with plenty of space for the 6 of us.

Wonderful Family Vacation
The condo was just as pictured and perfect for the 4 adults and 3 children in our party. The owners had beach chairs and umbrellas in the closet, which were very helpful. The location was lovely. Our kids loved the pool area and we were very happy being right on the beach.

Glad to hear that your vacation was a peaceful retreat. You picked a great Windy Hill Dunes condo to enjoy a little downtime. The location in the heart of Windy Hill, near BareFoot Landing, makes it very easy to do many things locally in a quick 5 minute radius, but just a you did, you can choose to keep things as simple and relaxing as you would like with all of the great amenities the complex offers. Love Windy Hill Dunes
We have been staying at Windy Hill Dunes since the year it was built. This is only the second year we have only needed a 3 bedroom instead of a 4 bedroom and we were a little disappointed. For somebody else, this unit may be wonderful but we have stayed in others that were more updated. Also, this is the first time I stayed in a unit without a hairdryer. I went to WalMart and bought one for $9.99 so I would think the owners may want to offer that amenity. Also, this unit has an old two slice toaster. When you have 6 people eating at the same time, making two slices of toast at a time is very time consuming. Again, a very inexpensive amenity that should be changed. I have never given a bad review but I just want to share my honest opinion about this unit.

We will certainly make the owner aware that guests would like to see a few more comfort items included with their stay. The things that you mentioned are easily fixable and really should not reflect overall on this great property and Windy Hill Dunes complex. The pool and grounds are beautifully kept and the location cannot be beat for a quick trip to dinner or entertainment in BareFoot Landing, as well as anything in a 10 minute drive around North Myrtle Beach attractions. Ideal location and facility
This is the second year that we stayed in this unit for 3 months - January, February and March. We love the location . . . the view is spectacular and shopping of all types is close by! We have found that during these 'winter' months, the pool and lazy river are slow to be operational . . . we would love it if these amenities could be up and going for at least March. The owner is constantly providing upgrades/replacement to aging appliances, flooring, etc.. We appreciate this and look forward to a continuation of this practice - we have reserved again for 2019, The ODVR team are the best when it comes to responding to requests, 'fixing' things and answering questions!!

We stayed at Windy Hill Dunes #1502 for four nights with our 5 children in April, 2018. The management staff was VERY friendly, helpful and professional. The room was very clean and had an excellent view from the balcony. The property, including pool, lazy river and hot tub were all in great condition and very clean. We met a couple of residents who lived at Windy Hill Dunes full time and they were super nice and also helpful.
The unit itself was excellent. It was very affordable and there was plenty of room for us and 5 kids. It had 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer/dryer. The A/C worked great, and there was free Wi-Fi and plenty of channels to watch on TV. The description and pictures on the website are very accurate.
The building is in a great location; it took us only 15 minutes to get to Broadway at the Beach, even less time to Barefoot Landing and we were in walking distance of some great small restaurants. There was a place just a couple of minutes walking distance down the beach to do Parasailing, Banana Boats and Kayaking.
I would highly recommend Windy Hill Dunes #1502.

15th floor Gem
This condo was all described and more. The condo was in excellent condition, clean and very spacious for our family of 7! The female attendant at the pool was very friendly, kept everyone under control and very attentive to the needs of the guests. The owners even had a "welcome to our condo" card for us! We would definitely rent this one again!!!

Delightful stay in a beautiful condo!
We have a large family with kiddos who keep getting larger! We have 3 teenage girls, 1 almost teen boy, 1 mother-in law, 1 hubby, and me. We love the N Myrtle Beach area, and were on the search for a condo that we could afford and that could hold all of us. This property was perfect. It was well-kept, renovated, and has simply stunning views! We would definitely recommend and revisit this beautiful home!

Thank you for your review. North Myrtle Beach is more residential than the City of Myrtle Beach, so a car is definitely necessary for enjoying all this small town has to offer. There are a few businesses in the Windy Hill section of the beach (a small corner store and a hamburger joint) and most visitors find the peace and slower pace of North Myrtle Beach to be just what they are looking for in a quiet vacation spot. There are other sections of town that may give you additional walk to options - next time try the Crescent Beach section. And we'll be happy to help you plan another visit!
